December 4, 2003 – (Posted on the TripAdvisor.com) Hotel Secreto: A fabulous place to stay My wife, 15 year old daughter and I just returned from Isla Mujeres. We have traveled throughout the USA, the Caribbean and some European countries, as well as stayed at some top-notch hotels and resorts. Hotel Secreto was like staying at your own beach house with a private staff. We almost felt that the staff was family, as they truly cared for our comfort and happiness. The rooms were moderate in size, but very chic. Every request was handled with professionalism. Omar and Alfonso at the front desk bend over backwards for you. Scott, the owner, arranged a surprise Mariachi band to play for my daughter when she woke up on the day of her birthday. I can only rave about this hotel. Nothing was less than perfect. During our stay, there were guests from all over the world. And the island is very safe and friendly. Great restaurants and great bargins.

February 4, 2003 -- We spent a wonderful week at Secreto during July 2002. I had just returned from five months in China, and my fiancé had surprised me with a vacation to Isla Mujeres. We couldn't have asked for a more romantic place to spend together. After months apart, we felt relaxed and at ease at Secreto. The hotel is very private, and makes you feel as if Playa Luna was your own private beach. The staff was excellent, and the hotel itself is breathtaking in its simplicity. January 22, 2003 -- Scott, congrats on all the success Secreto is enjoying. You should be very proud. We, of course, love what you've done and are very excited about spending time with you there in March. The kids ask frequently when we're going. 
     Regarding that, I thought you'd enjoy a little story about Hailey. This morning, when I was taking Hailey to school, I told her that I thought we'd be a little late and she might miss morning prayers. With that, we got into a discussion about what they did in morning prayers and who said what prayers. She said that anyone can offer up suggestions of people they want the lower school to pray for, someone sick, in need, or just loved ones that you want to pray for. They then say a group prayer for those intentions and say the “Our Father.”
     I asked Hailey what types of things she prayed for and she said “I pray for Scott.” When I asked her to elaborate, she said, “I pray for different things, especially for people in my family......Scott works very hard at his hotel and we don't get to see him very often, so I pray for Scott.” 
     No wonder things are going well for you and Secreto. You've got Hailey and the lower school of Sacred Heart in your corner......

October 11, 2002 - My husband and I have been to Secreto three times and absolutely love it. The rooms are spacious, clean, light, airy, romantic and cozy. The air conditioning is to die for! The refrigerator is perfect, and you have a lock box in your room. The outside living room is beautiful, and the view is unbelievable. Most of the time you never know that there is anyone else there. It is like having your own private hotel and pool. Mostly couples. Very convenient to town. They will have food delivered to you if you wish or it is a very short walk to the main street.

September 27, 2002 - I'm not normally one to write to a hotel to thank them for a great time, however, I think this is the definite exception. We had a wonderful time at Secreto. We've been to Isla Mujeres before and it didn't compare to our stay this time. Secreto is classy and gorgeous, and the staff was genuinely friendly and accommodating. We really appreciated all the attention to detail and the superior service that we received. In fact, we look forward to renting the entire place for a week next August.

September 23, 2002 - We were on Isla Mujeres for the first time in August, and stayed at Secreto. We would never stay anywhere else after doing some research on other accommodations while on the island. Scott (the owner) and the staff are so helpful. They will arrange anything you need, from golf cart rentals and snorkeling (they have their own boat) to restaurant recommendations. The rooms are so clean and new. The air conditioning works like a charm. The best is the view. All rooms have there own veranda and French doors. The sounds of the waves and the sunset and sunrise are to die for. The pool is great, too. It’s beautiful and so relaxing. The hotel only has nine rooms, so it was never really crowded. I cannot say enough good things about Secreto. We did a lot of research on hotel accommodations, and we felt we definitely made the right choice. We will definitely be back.

September 22, 2002 - We stayed at Secreto in May and loved it. The hotel opened on Christmas day, 2001, so it’s less than a year old. It’s a small, nine-room, beautifully designed hotel, and has a great view of Media Luna beach. We watched the sunrise every morning from our bed, and loved listening to the crashing waves. Media Luna beach presents a gorgeous sight, and there is a constant breeze off the Caribbean. We had a king size bed on the third floor, which was very comfortable. The A/C was very quiet, and when we used it, we were hardly aware that it was on. Scott and his wife did a lot of research in the selection of the building materials. I especially liked the material used for the floor. It was made of a stone formed from ancient reefs, quarried in the Yucatan, and cut into slabs. It gives the floor a natural feel that is so wonderful for the bottom of your feet, and is nice to look at with so many fossilized shells imbedded in the stone. Secreto is a lovely hotel, and you will enjoy your stay there.

September 20, 2002 - My husband and I stayed at Secreto at the end of August and loved it. The beautiful sunrises and moon at night is breathtaking. Very scenic from the balconies, and very quiet. You don't hear anyone around you. We enjoyed being able to have peace and quiet, but close enough to walk to where everything was going on. Everything is less than a five minute walk away. The staff is excellent, and we would stay again.
